Jeff's Black Foot
The stage lay there naked under the glaring lights stripped of all it’s glory
waiting to be reborn again under the loving care of Geoff the elder and Jeff the
younger, often known as big Geoff and little Jeff.
Well it happened this one day when Jeff the younger was in a particularly
frivolous mood that the stage was being prepared for the next performance which
perforce my aging brain does not recall the title. However as Jeff came
strolling across the stage towards the auditorium he decided to step off the
stage instead of using the nearby stairs - typical.
Unfortunately just where he was planning to step off there happened to be a 25
gallon tub, unseen on the floor below, in which there were about 4 gallons of
matt black paint. As his feet left the stage and he was in mid flight he
realised his peril but too late - his right foot landed perfectly in the tub
which fell over spilling it’s contents, including Jeff’s now black right foot
onto the carpeted floor of the auditorium. Pandemonium and panic broke out as
the paint began to seep slowly into the carpet…….
